Delete your account

Use this page to permanently delete your PreventED teacher account and understand what information is removed.
Sign in with your teacher account to delete it from this page, or follow the steps below. If you cannot sign in, email help@nneca.org.uk.
1. Overview
You can request deletion of your PreventED teacher account at any time. Deletion is permanent: you will lose access to your training progress, assessment results, and certificates, and this cannot be undone.
This page explains how to delete your account in the PreventED app or website, what data is removed, and what to do if you cannot sign in.
2. How to delete your account
If you have a teacher (learner) account, you can delete it yourself after signing in:
- Open PreventED and sign in with your email and password.
- Go to Profile (from the navigation menu).
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. You will be signed out and your account will be removed.

If you are already signed in on this device, you can use the Delete account button at the top of this page instead of going through Profile.
If you cannot sign in
Email help@nneca.org.uk from the address linked to your account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion request. This may take up to 30 days.
School administrator accounts
School administrator accounts are managed separately from teacher training accounts. If you need a school admin account closed, contact your school leadership or email us at the address above.
3. Data deleted when you delete your account
When your account is deleted, we remove the following personal information from our active systems:
- Your account email address and authentication record
- Your profile (name and school name)
- Module and lesson progress, including activity completion state and confidence check responses
- Assessment attempts, scores, and related question outcomes
- Video playback data (watch progress and completion records)
- Certificate records and certificate reference numbers issued to your account
Data not stored on your account
Free-text module reflection at the end of each module is not saved to our servers, so there is no additional reflection content to delete from that step.
4. Data we may retain after deletion
After account deletion, the following may still exist for a limited period:
- Encrypted backups held by our hosting and database providers, which are overwritten on their normal backup cycle (typically up to 30 days).
- Aggregated or de-identified programme statistics that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
- Records we are required to keep by law, or correspondence about your deletion request.
School reporting
If your school exported training reports before you deleted your account, copies held outside PreventED (for example in your school's own records) are your school's responsibility.
